Accelerated Software Development: Cutting Through The Noise

How ASD Enables Innovation and Rapid TTM

Software development is a human-driven process, but a process nevertheless. Certain aspects have been removed, others added, but this complexity is what makes software development so painstaking. Not anymore.

There’s so much noise within the tech space that it’s nearly impossible to cut through. A surgeon's scalpel wouldn’t even find purchase. So, how do we cut through the BS? With the usage of accelerators.

Accelerated software development (ASD) gets you a market-ready product in a fraction of the time necessary for traditional software development. Specific technologies, like AI/ML, paired with specific methodologies, agile/iterative development, means you can see your vision come to life rapidly. Not only that, but the rapid pace means that once market feedback is received, new features, processes, and functionalities can be added seamlessly.

Now, that may sound too good to be true, so let’s do some dissecting. What are accelerators? How do they enable ASD? What impact can ASD have on my business? Here are some eye-opening insights.

Making The Most Of Accelerators

Here’s another buzzword for your dictionary. The term “accelerators” can be found on nearly every software development firm’s website. But what does it actually mean? Accelerators are usually tools (automation, CI/CD, etc.) or methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc.) that enable rapid software development.

Within the context of ASD, accelerators bridge the cost-quality gap. Intelligent usage of AI/ML enables monotonous, error-prone processes to be automated. There’s so much bloat within each team member’s list of responsibilities. Trimming the fat with automation means those menial, minimal-value tasks are taken care of. Now, your superstar engineers can focus on more complex, business-based issues.

Let’s be realistic for a moment. Tech moves quickly, and so does the market. Instead of constantly playing catch-up, wouldn’t it be nice to take the lead? That’s what ASD offers.

Enable Secure Development

Automation and the utilization of AI/ML are key aspects of ASD. But, when people hear about AI, they automatically assume human interaction is completely absent. That couldn’t be further from the truth. We utilize specific, comprehensive security and compliance protocols to ensure any product created has the proper cybersecurity capabilities. This is a priority, not an afterthought.

AI doesn’t replace engineers, it augments them. Processes can be entirely automated that were previously painstaking and error-prone. Now, your teams can focus on more pressing issues that bring added value to your organization.

But if AI is being used to create a product for your organization, does that mean all of that information is publicly available? Tools are being created using “open-source” AI technology, but that doesn’t mean your product is now out in the wild.

As with all software development, cybersecurity is paramount. Embedded compliance and security are two benefits associated with ASD because any automation that takes place uses algorithms that were trained in-house. Data breaches, leaks, or other security issues are proactively addressed because of the inherent defense capabilities implemented via ASD.

Get The Right People For The Right Job

Look, we get it. Sometimes, organizations aren’t ready to take the plunge on a software product. Luckily, there’s a path less traveled that could lead to the promised land. The emphasis of ASD is on iterative development and feedback inclusion. Get a tangible vision, receive market feedback, and then iterate rapidly. That’s what ASD enables. It saves organizations from this all-or-nothing approach that has plagued software development over the years.

Having some sort of output enables you to feel part of the way there. If you like what you see, the iterative aspect of ASD means new features can be added rapidly. If the received feedback isn’t what you were looking for, now you can go back to the drawing board with actionable intelligence.

Organizations can have difficulty understanding, predicting, and optimizing products to work together. It can be hard to predict when something is about to go haywire. For businesses, understanding where opportunities exist is at the forefront. That’s how our ASD approach enables futureproofing.
